Company History
Ian Maitland began Maitland Enterprises in Morpeth in the Hunter Valley north of Sydney, Australia, in June 1989. The early focus of the business was on alternative energy and power saving products. In 1995 the business was incorporated and became Maitland Enterprises Pty Ltd.
Solar equipment and accessories were a major part of the initial business activity. One of the most successful products was and still remains the Super Solar Regulator that was introduced in 1998 and has now been joined by three other models.

Managing Director
Ian is the founder and Managing Director of Maitland Enterprises. He has more than 30 years experience in the design and development of electronic equipment.
After moving to Australia from Wellington, New Zealand in the middle of 1988, Ian began working on solar and wind power projects.
Following the release of the super bright LED in 2000, Ian designed and developed the current range of lighting products.

The arrival of the super bright white LED in the late 90's created an exciting range of possible new applications. Testing of this new type of LED lighting began immediately. Early sales and installations for the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service in late 2000 confirmed that the LED lighting had great potential.

In June 2003, after receiving a large order for solar powered landing lights from our partner company, Avtronix, the company expanded with the opening of a marketing and manufacturing division in Mascot, Sydney, Australia.

This division proved to be very successful in the garden and landscape market and has now been split off to become ME Lighting Pty Ltd.

Maitland Enterprises has gained a great deal of knowledge and experience with super bright LED lighting.
The latest innovations, including colour and even higher light output offer many new solutions for a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications.
